Have our representatives in Madison forgotten the meaning of "public servant"? Have they any sense left as they debate? Most of the people in Wisconsin don't want voucher schools; they want good public schools and the financing to support them. But now there is talk of rolling vouchers out to the whole state. For whose benefit?
The people and the health leaders of Wisconsin want to take the federal Medicaid money, but now our "servants" are negotiating using Wisconsin taxes to pay hospitals extra so that they can support Gov. Scott Walker in turning down millions for Medicaid. For whose benefit?
These lawmakers in Madison are deluded and un-American when they starve public schools for the sake of a few. They are selfish when they deny health care to the neediest. The Federal Reserve of Philadelphia just ranked Wisconsin 49th in terms of leading economic indicators for the next six months, meaning we are predicted to go backward economically. De-funding public education and decreasing health care for the poor will add to the undesirability of locating new business in Wisconsin. No one likes to associate with a loser.
Contact your representatives in Madison today and insist: Vouchers - No. Medicaid funding - Yes.
