Skyward appeal still on table

Student services company at odds with DPI, CESAs

Last week's vote by the Joint Finance Committee won't change the status of Skyward's statewide student information system appeal, or issues the business has with state educational departments it claims swayed the selection process in favor of another company.

On May 29, the JFC removed the almost $14 million in funding for a statewide student information system from the proposed state budget for 2013-15. Should the measure remain in the budget, the Department of Public Instruction would be required to develop a multi-vendor system to bring back to the JFC.
