Despite being thoroughly outshot, the Redbirds are heading back to state after a thrilling shootout victory over Kimberly in a WIAA Division 1 sectional final on Saturday at Kaukauna High School.

Senior goalkeeper Megan Lindstrom stopped all 20 shots she saw in regulation and the two overtime periods before De Pere won on penalty kicks in the shootout, 4-3. The Redbirds had just four shots on goal during the 100 minutes of play. ...
