New hotels, restaurants and convenience stores have yet to make an appearance along the new stretch of Highway 10 between Stevens Point in Marshfield, but local officials say the rate of business development along the highway is not a cause for concern.

"It's not taking any longer than I expected," said Jason Angell, director of planning and economic development for the city of Marshfield.

The four-lane route connecting Marshfield to Stevens Point opened Aug. 21. The 31 miles of new highway cost about $244 million. ...
