? A new Panera Bread restaurant will hire up to 50 people in Wausau, a company spokeswoman said. Panera is aiming to open its cafe doors by late July or early August. The 50 positions will be a mix of salaried and hourly positions.

? Toppers Pizza, which is moving into the same building as Panera, at 1700 Stewart Ave. in Wausau, is planning to open in mid-August and will hire about 20 people, a company spokesman said.

? A new report from the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia ranked Wisconsin 49th of 50 states in the nation for economic outlook. Only five states nationally were given a negative outlook for job growth. Only Wyoming was judged to have a worse outlook than Wisconsin.

? The Kohler Co. will add 300 jobs at a Sheboygan County factory that produces generators, according to a report. The company is seeking to meet a need driven by a national trend toward home use of power generators.
