Weather dampens farm field work

A stubborn spring has some farmers around the state exploring other crop options as cool, wet weather continues to hamper field work.

About 81 percent of the state's corn crop is planted, 18 percentage points behind the five-year average. Between 77 and 85 percent of the crop has been planted in the northeastern and north central parts of the state.
