Legion baseball: Bays start strong in weekend tournament

The Sturgeon Bay Legion baseball team finished 3-1 in the Kewaunee County Tournament this past weekend in Luxemburg.

The Bays shut out Kingsford, Mich., 6-0, and beat Chilton, 6-1, Saturday. On Sunday, they defeated De Pere 17s, 9-4, in eight innings before losing to Kewaunee County, 1-0.

Riley Cordier pitched a five-hitter with seven strikeouts in the win over Kingsford. He also homered, singled and scored three runs, while Jason Lindemann had three hits and two RBIs. ...
