Soccer: Clippers defender 'was unbelievable'

Sturgeon Bay's Silke Luhrs was chosen Defensive Player of the Year in the Packerland Conference for the 2013 high school girls soccer season.

Luhrs, a foreign exchange student from Germany, anchored a Clippers' defense that recorded 11 shutouts in 17 games.

"She was unbelievable," said Clippers coach Paul Lutze. "She impressed plenty of the other coaches to the point where one of them called me to ask if I was going to nominate her for the award and if I wasn't going to, he was going to. She was just very good." ...
