Casey Gates' monthly $415 gas bill could soon be a thing of the past.

Gates drives every day from his home in Two Rivers to his job as a web developer at St. Norbert College in De Pere. His 80-mile roundtrip commute in his 2010, 14-miles-to-the-gallon pickup is pricey.

This week has been a tough one for Gates and other Green Bay area drivers. Prices for regular gas in the region are $3.99 per gallon, according to the gas price-checking website GasBuddy.com. The Midwest ranks in the top of the highest gas prices in the U.S., with Illinois at $4.24 and Michigan at $4.14. ...
