WIAA state baseball: Greenwood captures Division 4 state title

APPLETON - APPLETON - The elation Greenwood baseball coach Kent Hinker felt as he walked off the field at Fox Cities Stadium on Thursday morning soon turned into exhilaration as a few of his players dumped a cooler full of ice water over him as the celebration of their WIAA Division 4 state championship began.

"That felt great," Hinker said of the shower he received on a day in which temperatures reached into the 70s. The sixth-year coach also could have been referring to the program's third state title, but first since 1990, when Greenwood captured the Class C championship.
