Work on Wausau's newest community garden gets underway (with video)

Construction trucks hummed and shovels hit dirt as local volunteers began the development of Wausau's newest community garden Thursday on what just a few months ago was the site of blighted, dilapidated homes on Second Street.

About 12 volunteers were on the scene with shovels, garden hoes and lot maps in hand. Many local groups came together to help build the project. Ghidorzi Cos. provided construction vehicles and Menards and Home Depot provided construction supplies.
