Leaving injured man at crash brings felony conviction

A Kewaunee man was given nine months in jail and 10 years probation for abandoning an injured passenger in his vehicle after an auto crash on Oct. 25.

Brandon Sanchez, 20, formerly from Carlsville, pleaded no contest June 6 to felony charges of hit and run involving great bodily harm and second-degree recklessly endangering safety before Door County Judge Peter Diltz. A plea deal dismissed the reckless endangerment charge, but it was read into the record for sentencing.
