Special Agent in Charge Scott D. Sweetow of the St. Paul Field Division, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), has announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the theft of firearms that occurred at Virlee Gunworks in New Franken.

Approximately 19 handguns were stolen during a May 28 burglary of the federally licensed firearms dealer. Investigators have determined that the suspect(s) drove a blue 1996-2000 Dodge Caravan.

This vehicle hit a mailbox post while leaving the scene and may have sustained damage on the passenger side of the van.

ATF and the Brown County Sheriff's Office are investigating the theft.

"We are requesting the public's assistance in providing information that will assist in recovering these stolen firearms and bring justice to the person or persons responsible for this crime," Sweetow said.

Any information regarding this burglary should be reported to the St. Paul ATF Office at (414) 727-6170, Brown County Sheriff's Office at (920) 448-6187, or Crime Stoppers at (920) 432-7867.
