A new $178,000 ambulance has been put into service this month at Door County's Central (Sturgeon Bay) station. A second rig is expected to be added later this month.
The Door County Board Emergency Services Committee decided Thursday to discuss buying a third new ambulance at its July meeting, while viewing the first of two $178,000 ambulances delivered earlier this month.
Although the first of the new trucks was placed in service last week, the second ambulance needs more pre-deployment work, according to county Emergency Services Director Eric Christensen.
