Summer reading program kicks off this week at C-port library; movie today

Community friends of all ages should stop by the Campbellsport Public Library during the week of June 10 to register for the Summer Reading Program. When children register they will receive a free book bag and bookmark, their reading logs, and a schedule of events. Children may choose to only take part in the reading for prizes challenge or they may just choose to attend programs at the Library or they may participate in all activities.

? Teens & Adults: Teens are encouraged to sign up for the program. Kids ages 12 and up should stop in for their entry tickets and to pick up a book bag and bookmark. Adults are not left out of the fun. When checking out books or magazines, grab some entry forms. Free popcorn will be handed out during registration week. Late sign-ups for the Summer Reading Programs are accepted.

? Children of all ages are invited to drop in at the library during the week of June 10 to create a rock paperweight in the likeness of their dad. The library will provide all the supplies for free. These Dad Rocks will make the perfect Father's Day gift.

? Movie: On Wednesday, June 12 at 1 p.m., we will be showing "Escape from Planet Earth." This animated family comedy catapults moviegoers to plant Baab where admired astronaut Scorch Supernova is a national hero to the blue alien population. When there is an SOS from a notoriously dangerous planet, Scorch bounds off to help save this planet, but when he finds himself caught in a trap, his by-the-rules brother Gary takes off to save his brother. This movie is rated "PG." This is a free drop-in program. Anyone under the age of nine will need to be accompanied by someone older. Free popcorn will be handed out.

The Campbellsport Public Library is located at 220 N. Helena St. and is open May through September Mon-Fri from 10-6; and closed on the weekends.
