River systems have some of the best fishing this time of year if you're looking to spend a day on the water with a lot of random action from different species of fish.

The Oconto, Peshtigo and Menominee rivers all contain several types of fish that are active in the summer months, from big smallmouth bass to trout species to even northern pike and walleyes that stick around after spawning periods in spring. It's often fast action as well, with the potential of landing some really nice fish regardless if you are wading from the shoreline or on a boat.
