Book swap to promote early childhood literacy

This year, the Marshfield Area United Way Day of Action will feature a children's book swap held June 21 at the Marshfield Mall.

The Day of Action is a volunteer program created to help advance the common good on issues of education, income and health. It's held every year on June 21 because it is the longest day of sunlight, said Ashley Winch, Marshfield Area United Way marketing and campaign coordinator.

More than 300 United Ways participate across the nation every year, said Winch, adding that Marshfield's United Way is focusing on early childhood literacy. The book swap will give a chance ...
