Former Marco client says his getting clean has 'made Manitowoc safer'

Mike Ackley, 45, had been an addict for more than two decades when he finally got clean thanks to Marco Services in Manitowoc.

He arrived as a heroin addict, and he also had struggled with alcohol and other drugs through the years, becoming addicted to "anything I touched," he said. His heroin addiction began as a dependence on painkillers after shoulder surgery, and "as I got cut off from painkillers from the doctors, I turned to heroin."
