ASHLAND - The Ashland County sheriff says the two men killed in a single-engine plane crash on Madeline Island are related and from the La Crosse area.

Sheriff Mick Brennan says autopsies are being done today after the victims' bodies were recovered from the crash wreckage on Sunday. The plane crashed about 15 miles southwest of the airport.

Brennan told the Duluth News Tribune (http://bit.ly/19cdc8H ) a witness saw the plane try to land, then abort the landing and apparently turn to make a second approach. The plane then went down just short of the runway. ...
