Prior to opening statements at the Brian M. Cooper homicide trial Monday, defense attorney Shane Brabazon asked for a five-minute meeting with his client.

When they returned Brabazon announced that Cooper had given him a note that stated he no longer wanted the attorney to represent him.

"He informed me that he is not happy with my representation; he does not feel that I have zealously advocated for him," Brabazon said. ...
