Trial begins for 14-year-old accused of killing fr...: The trial began Monday, June 17 for Nathan Paape, one of the 14-year-old boys accused of killing 78-year-old Barbara Olson.

Attorneys for Nathan Paape say the teenager had just come home from school last September when his friend, Antonio Barbeau, arrived with a hatchet and laid out a plan to murder and rob Barbeau's great-grandmother at her Sheboygan Falls home.

Paape, 14, of Sheboygan, later told investigators that he never once thought they'd actually kill 78-year-old Barbara Olson, but would instead scare her and steal her jewelry, money and car.

The notion that the murder and robbery scheme was entirely Barbeau's idea, and that Olson died at Barbeau's hands, were the key elements of a defense strategy laid ...
