Republican Party lacks compassion

At the start of Gov. Walker's term (late 2010) and hopefully the only one, the citizens of this state experienced an assault on unions and the public school system. As the next new state budget neared completion/conclusion (June 5), we not only witnesseed a continuation of the above, the GOP now plans to place a knife in the backs of those receiving food stamps and unemployment compensation benefits.

A Democarat (Senate, Milwaukee) described the spending plan as "a handout to special interests and the wealthy." He also said "the biggest winners in the dark of night budget were those who could afford to pay lobbyists to be in the Capitol's backroom."

One could add to the above that the Republican Party of this state has not looked at its conscience and lacks compassion.
