Once upon a time, the Plover River ran sparkling, vibrant and full. The Plover River once was prized for native brook trout as a class 1 trout stream. This is the river I visit in this article.

There is a river that runs through the counties of Marathon and Portage in central Wisconsin. This Plover River sources near Aniwa before lazily flowing through Hatley and Stevens Point.
