Four Ripon College faculty members are set to deliver lectures on a wide range of topics this summer, including jazz, visual arts, foreign policy and World War I as part of a new Summer Heritage Lecture Series. The lectures, which are open to the public, are part of an effort to increase lifelong learning opportunities in the Ripon and Green Lake areas and in surrounding communities.
The following lectures are set for Summer 2013:
June 28: Foreign Policy in the Age of Obama
Presented by Ripon College President Zach Messitte
Location: East Hall (Ransom St.), Ripon College, Ripon, WI
Time: 9:30-10:15 a.m. reception; 10:15-11:30 a.m. lecture
Price: $20; Assorted rolls, coffee and juice will be provided.
July 5: Wisconsin Jazz Stories
Featuring Wisconsin Native and Music Director
at Manhattan's "Jazz Church" Ike Sturm
Presented by Professor of Music Kurt Dietrich
Location: Thrasher Opera House Annex, 510 Mill St., Green Lake, WI
Time: 5:15-6:30 p.m. reception and lecture;
7:30 p.m. concert by Ike Sturm Ensemble (concert tickets $20)
