Organizers of a project to repopulate Lake Petenwell with aquatic plants in an attempt to eliminate algae are seeking citizen volunteers to help with the project, which is set for 9 a.m. June 28.

Volunteers do not need any special expertise but should be willing to get wet and dirty and be motivated, according to a news release from the Adams County Land and Water Conservation Department, which is coordinating the project, along with the Petenwell and Castle Rock Stewards, the Wisconsin River Power Co. and the Department of Natural Resources.

For more information, contact Reesa Evans, lake specialist with the Adams County Land and Water Conservation Department at 608-339-4268 or revans@co.adams.wi.us.
