Door County Circuit Judge D. Todd Ehlers this morning denied a motion for a mistrial in the Brian M. Cooper homicide trial.

Cooper, 36, of Plainfield, Ill., is charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide and one count of third-degree sexual assault in the Aug. 19 death of Alisha Bromfield, 21, also of Plainfield, Ill., and her six-month unborn daughter at a Southern Door resort.

A jury of seven men and seven women, including two alternate jurors, was picked Friday in Wisconsin Rapids and has been hearing the case in a Sturgeon Bay courtroom since Monday morning. ...
