A Door County man held a book signing at Book World in Sturgeon Bay Saturday for a fictional account about the early years of a real-life historical figure known commonly as Vlad the Impaler.

Victor Foia, who lives part-time in Baileys Harbor, was born in Transylvania, a region of Romania, during the Cold War about 92 miles from where Vlad, the Prince of Wallachia, was born in the 1400s. Foia calls Vlad by the name most people know him by - Dracula.

The 66-year-old Foia first learned about Dracula when he visited his birthplace during a school trip. ...
