Hello everyone!

What a glorious day for Oconto! Our Blue Devil Boys Baseball Team has brought this city to previous untouchable heights, by bringing home the FIRST team State Gold Championship through confidence, diligence and never-say-die teamwork!

They have shown us what we are made of and what we can accomplish by setting an example of attaining goals previously unattainable. As the Green Bay sportscaster described our boys with the 3 R's, "Oconto is relentless, resilient and now respected."

History has been made and we are so fortunate to be a part of it!

I am issuing a Proclamation declaring June 13 to July 13 Oconto Blue Devil Boys Baseball Month, so that they receive the credit they so deserve. And please, if you see Trent Mehlberg, Tyler Trepanier, Bryce Bostedt, Teague Camps, Kyle Krueger, Tanner Pillsbury, Blake Campshure, Ricky Mataitis, Corey Herbert, Brandon Bahde, Cody Zahm, Brandon Laine and Grant Frazer and their coaches, Brian Sohrweide, Joey Kumhala, Scott Fumelle and Chad Anderson, congratulate them and relay our thanks for giving us this wonderful gift!

The school was to have a program Monday night to celebrate their accomplishment.

Thank you to Cruisers and any other company who allowed employees to listen to the game during work hours! Thank you to all businesses and persons who are displaying congratulatory signs or signs of support! Thank you to everyone who attended the State games to stand behind our team! Our crowds were huge!

I understand that people from Coleman, last year's State Champs, came to support Oconto. Does that ever speak volumes for that city! Thank you Coleman!

I was asked to get "The Oconto Way" shirts made and I will take care of it. When I was asked mid-game if I was losing faith because they were behind, I said "NEVER." I have tremendous faith in Oconto and its people and they were shining very brightly at the State games and the welcome home parade.

We are on an upward path and the Blue Devil Boys Baseball Team has shown us the way! Boys, you have my heartfelt, forever gratitude for your achievement!

We are having a great day! And remember - this is dedicated to our Oconto Blue Devils Boys Baseball. "Without courage, all other virtues lose their meaning." - Winston Churchill

It is "The Oconto Way!"
