On Tuesday June 4, Rainbow House Staff, Board of Directors and Vigil Planning Committee held a community candlelight ceremony to honor Trish Waschbisch who was the Interim Director at Rainbow House Domestic Abuse Services, Inc.
We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all those who made the event a wonderful experience. Thank you to keynote speakers Senator David Hansen, Courtney Olsen of Rainbow House, Chaplin Karen Ann Hansen, Ann Brickson of the Wisconsin Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Detective Chris Lesperance from the Marinette County Sheriff's Department.
Thank you to the following individuals and business who donated to the event; the Hashimoto family, Angelis' Floral Dept., Peshtigo Pharmacy, Walmart, Shopko, Image Works, Lithocrafters, Redneck DJ, Mike Wolfe and Bay Cities Radio, Marinette City Police Dept., Marinette County Sheriff's Dept., Mayor Denise Ruleau, Lana Bero, Christine Pecard, Kathy Thill, Mike Minzlaff, Sarah Monahan, Patty Linczenski, Joan Kelly and Carolyn Peeters. Finally, thank you to Trish's parents, Patricia and Howard and Trish's children, Justin and Lexie and all those who braved the cold and rainy weather to attend the event.
The Rainbow House Board of Directors and Staff have established two memorial funds in honor of Trish. The Justin and Lexie Educational Memorial Fund and the Trish Waschbisch Victims of Domestic Violence Legal Services Memorial. All donations can be made to Stephenson National Bank or the Rainbow House via check or from our PayPal account located on our website under donations. Trish was a very special person and a well-respected advocate in the fight to end domestic violence. Her light will shine on forever by those touched by her.
