Prep baseball overview: Local squads eye top conference spots

With local prep summer baseball teams nearly halfway through their schedule, several remain in contention for the top spots in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference and the Central Lakeshore Conference.

In the CLC, Cedar Grove-Belgium held the top spot entering Tuesday (7-2, 7-2) while Ozaukee (5-4, 5-1) and Howards Grove (6-3, 5-2) were second and third, respectively. Also in the CLC is the Sheboygan Lutheran-Kohler co-op (5-6, 5-3), Oostburg (6-5, 5-3), Random Lake (2-8, 1-7) and Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah (0-13, 0-10).

The top spots in the EWC standings are also locals, as Plymouth is No. 1 ...
