The community is invited to nominate a courageous breast cancer survivor from Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Portage, Taylor, Wood or a portion of west Shawano County to serve as the Hononary Survivor during the Central Wisconsin Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure's Race for the Cure on Aug. 11 in downtown Wausau.

Please keep in mind that if the nominee is the survivor selected, he or she must be comfortable sharing details of his or her story with the media in order to raise awareness about breast cancer. If selected, the nominee will receive recognition at many of the race events.

To nominate an inspirational breast cancer survivor, go to www.komencentralwisconsin.org and complete the New Balance Honorary Survivor Nomination Form. Then email the form to pattersona@gmail by June 30.
