Funding available for caregiver respite

Caregivers of Alzheimer's patients and loved ones can apply for respite-specific funding for adult day programs, in-home assistance, meal delivery and visiting nurse assistance through Saint Michael's Foundation.

Caregivers of Alzheimer's patients are often so overwhelmed by taking care of their loved one that they neglect their own physical, mental and emotional well-being. The Vetter Family Alzheimer's Fund at Saint Michael's Foundation works to prevent this from happening. It was established in 2011 by Hans and Sherri Vetter in memory of their sister, Mary Vetter Murphree, and in honor of their sister, Ginger Vetter McDevitt.

For information on how to apply for caregiver respite from the Vetter Family Alzheimer's Fund, call Saint Michael's Hospital Foundation at 715-343-3259 or email StMichaelsFoundation@ministryhealth.org.
