Letter: Writer should apologize to gay community

Writer owes apology to gay community

EDITOR: A recent letter opposing the gay pride parade ("Say no to gay parade, lifestyle," Robert Pundsack, June 7) was full of hate and bigotry. The writer is not only hurting gays with his comments; he is also hurting the parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters and friends who love them.

He talks about morality and decency - but any decent person would not have written such a hateful letter.

Under the U.S. Constitution, gays have the same rights as any other person in this country. We need to reverse the state constitutional amendment limiting marriage between one man and one woman and become a more equal and forward-moving state.

The writer should apologize to the gay and lesbian community.

Geri Slock,

Wausau
