MSTC tax rate for 2013-14 to remain virtually unchanged

Property owner with a $100,000 home to see a 30-cent increase on tax bills next year

Property owners in the eight-county Mid-State Technical College District will not likely see much of a difference in the college's portion of their tax bills next year.

During their Monday meeting, board members approved keeping the projected mill rate at $1.74 for each $1,000 of equalized value, or $173.76 - an increase of 30 cents - on a $100,000 home, despite a predicted 1 percent decrease in total equalized valuation, according to an MSTC news release.
