Brian M. Cooper made an impassioned plea looking at the jury Thursday afternoon in Door County Circuit Court.

The 36-year-old Plainfield, Ill., man is charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide in connection with the death of Alisha Bromfield, 21, also of Plainfield, and her unborn daughter Aug. 19 at a Door County resort.

"It's been 10 months yesterday since the tragedy occurred," Cooper said. "I can say I'm sorry, but that doesn't do anything ... I want to show you how much both of them meant to me." ...
