Letter: Some thoughts on a panel discussion

Some thoughts on recent Panel discussions:

First, I'd like to thank Vern Troullier for his contribution. It's persuaded me to add my 2 cents. Next week I'll keep it under 100 words! Les, I agree, but we don't need another law mandating it.

John (Goswitz), I must apologize. I think your piece was mislabeled; it should have been titled "Truth mutilated." History shows that Republican and Democratic Presidents alike have had numerous scandals and missteps. President Nixon had Watergate and extensively used the IRS for political purposes; Bush was on duty when we were attacked on 9/11 and he got us involved in a trillion-dollar unfunded war losing our opportunity to create a stable Afghanistan. By the way, that is where the men who attacked us trained. Clinton had Somalia and Monica. It seems to me you should be throwing stone at all parties.

Roy (Geigel), well said, it is funny how that happens!

Mike (Van Sleet), what you say is very true. It's always easier to spend OPM. We can only hope it is spent wisely. Before we ever spend OPM on the murals, maybe we should do something about Mirro! I'd donate to that project!

Jerome (Bolle), obviously only the last question needs to be answered. People have a tendency to follow Fox or whoever shows them the world they want to see. It provides them a comfort zone. I try to take in all viewpoints and the Internet makes it easy. It helps to look at any problem or issue from the 360.

Carla (Halvorson), I think you hit all the points, I'd only add that no one is being "tracked" unless there is probable cause and a FISA judge approves the tracking. I don't like it, but if it is security versus privacy, I would lean toward privacy. Just me?
