Bookworm Gardens, 1415 Campus Drive, will hold its third annual Ladybug Picnic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22. Activities will include crafts, games, songs and storytelling, and the release of live ladybugs into the gardens. Due to a ladybug shortage among suppliers, the release of live ladybugs is dependent upon their availability.

Singer and storyteller, Mz. Tree will be performing in the Magic Treehouse. All ages are welcome to attend. There is no cost for this event, but donations are appreciated.

Gyros 2Go, a gourmet Greek food truck, will be selling authentic Greek food, grilled cheese, and other family-friendly items during the event.

This event is part of Bookworm Gardens' celebration of National Pollinator Week. The dates for this year's National Pollinator Week are June 17-23. While ladybugs are best known for their role in controlling garden pests, they also play a role in pollination. Pollination is a necessary step in the reproduction of flowering plants - without pollination, there would be no flowers or fruits.
