? Volunteer Center of Sheboygan County: Jammin' On the Shore! Join the Volunteer Center of Sheboygan County for their annual celebration, Jammin' On the Shore! This year's event will take place from 3-10 p.m. Friday, July 19, at Deland Park, 715 Broughton Drive. A pig roast dinner by 3 Guys and a Grill will be available from 4-8 p.m. for $15 per plate. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling 920-459-2780 ext. 112. Kid's meals and a vegetarian option will be available. Come for the free live music by Green Apple Quickstep and Unity the Band! Bring the kids to meet Roscoe, the Admirals mascot. Don't forget about the great raffles and silent auction items.
? The Salvation Army: Volunteers needed urgently.
-Thrift store truck assistant: Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on holidays or when facility is otherwise closed. Assist truck driver with pick-ups and other tasks.
-Day care afternoon cleaner: Mid-afternoon to late afternoon, ideal time 3-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Assist day care personnel with daily cleaning tasks of facilities to maintain a safe environment for employees and children.
-Drivers: Various days. Pick up donations, pick up and deliver prepared food for lunches, other various driving duties.
-Food pantry assistant: Afternoons Monday through Friday. Run food pantry appointments for the social worker.
? Summer Lunch Program: Scheduling for the Summer Lunch Program has begun! Reserve your shift online on the Volunteer Center's website. The program runs Monday through Friday from June 24 to July 25 and Monday through Thursday from July 29 to Aug. 15. Volunteer for Morning Prep from 9-11 a.m., Lunch Distribution from 11:15 a.m. 12:30 p.m., or driver helper from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to help out with this wonderful program. If you have trouble registering please contact the Volunteer Center. Not interested in volunteering? Assist by donating brown bags, Zip Lock bags, napkins, etc. Call for a complete list.
? Family Connections: We are in need of volunteers to assist with office duties. Duties will include: Creating copies, stuffing folders, organizing, computer work, and other duties as needed.
? Mental Health America of Sheboygan County: Mental Health America needs your help at the 2013 Sheboygan County fair! MHA has a booth at the county fairgrounds during the five days of the Fair. Volunteers are needed to staff the booth for two-and-a-half hour shifts. Two people staff the booth per shift, so sign up with a friend! Volunteers receive free admission to the county fairgrounds.
Volunteer responsibilities include facilitating a Spin-to-Win game and distributing game prizes, handing out informational materials about mental health topics, and answering basic questions about Mental Health America. Hope to see you at the Fair from Thursday, Aug. 29, through Monday, Sept. 2.
? NOMO Sheboygan County: Volunteers are needed to help staff the bike corral at Ducktona 500 in Sheboygan Falls on July 7. Donate as little as two hours of your time, and volunteering involves taking in bicycles, monitoring them, and returning them to their owner when they are ready to be picked up. It's a great way to hang out at your favorite local festivals while helping us to encourage biking in Sheboygan County. Feel free to also volunteer at one of the three other summer 2013 bike corrals. The following shifts are available: 10 a.m. to noon, noon to 2 p.m. and 2-4 p.m.
? RCS Empowers: RCS Empowers has a current need for landscape/groundkeeper volunteers. We are seeking individuals to assist with our yearly upkeep and maintenance of lawn and gardening endeavors.
? Sheboygan County Historical Research Center: The Research Center is always in need of inquisitive people who are willing to spend a couple of hours each week clipping the great numbers of newspapers that come into The Research Center. It's a fun job! You get to read the old newspapers, decide what should be clipped (a cheat sheet helps you decide), clip and date the clippings and visit with all the other fun volunteers at SCHRC that day. You can volunteer Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or Saturday mornings, 8:30 a.m. to noon.
