Door County native Erik Cordier is off to a strong start pitching for the Indianapolis Indians, a Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Pittsburgh Pirates prospect Erik Cordier has overcome a self-described "terrible" spring training - one in which he was nearly released by the organization - and is now throwing faster and better than he ever has during his professional baseball career.
In fact, the right-handed pitcher and former Southern Door High School standout has been clocked throwing as fast as 100 mph in a relief role for Pittsburgh's Triple-A affiliate, the Indianapolis Indians.
