Southwest Legion goes 2-0 at Wisconsin Rapids Invitational

Green Bay Southwest swept a pair of American Legion baseball games Saturday afternoon, dismantling Altoona 17-0 and defeating Madison Impact Sports 8-5 at the Wisconsin Rapids Ranger Invitational at Witter Field.

Southwest broke the first game open with a 12-run fourth inning. Dominick Golubiewski went 3-for-5, Mason Johanek had two hits and Nate Steffes hit a three-run home run. Nick Zacharias struck out seven and gave up two hits in five innings.

Taylor Egelhoff went the distance against Madison, scattering eight hits, and Southwest scored four runs in the fourth inning to pull away. ...
