Civil case of Wisconsin Rapids man charged with homicide postponed

The civil trial involving a 54-year-old former Wisconsin Rapids man charged with homicide was postponed Friday until after the criminal case is concluded.

Joseph B. Reinwand filed a civil lawsuit Oct. 6, 2011, against Manitowoc Mutual Insurance Co., Reedsville, after the company refused to pay a claim for a house Reinwand owned in Wisconsin Rapids that burned in an Oct. 9, 2010, fire - a fire authorities have accused Reinwand of starting.

On May 24, a special prosecutor filed charges of first-degree intentional homicide against Reinwand for the 2008 shooting death of Dale Meister. ...
