June 23, 1959 - Spring school attachment to Denmark loses: An attempt to attach Spring Creek School, Town of Bellevue, to the Denmark High School district was turned down by the school committees of Manitowoc, Brown, and Kewaunee Counties Monday.
The vote against the attachment followed a public hearing and a conference with the Denmark and Spring Creek school boards.
Only two or three persons spoke in favor of joining Denmark.
About 100 persons crowded into a classroom at the two-room Spring Creek School, which probably will be closed next fall. It expects an enrollment of only 8 to 10 students, believed too small a number to operate a school.
Similar opposition to joining Denmark High School is expected at a public hearing Wednesday evening at Wilson School, Town of Bellevue, on attachment of that school to Denmark High School.
Both Spring Creek and Wilson school districts now send most of their high school students to Preble High.
