Linebacker Desmond Bishop, who was released by the Green Bay Packers last week, will sign a one-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings, according to reports by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network and ProFootballTalk.com.

Bishop visited the Vikings and Kansas City Chiefs last week and also drew interest from Jacksonville, the New York Giants and San Francisco.

Bishop sustained a serious hamstring injury in the Packersí first preseason game last August and spent the year on injured reserve.

Bishop reportedly will compete for a job at both middle and weak side linebacker with the Vikings.

Bishop will join former Packers teammate Greg Jennings on the Vikings roster. Jennings became an unrestricted free agent this year and signed with Minnesota earlier this offseason.

According to ESPN Twin Cities, Bishop's deal will be worth around $1.5 million with another $500,000 in potential incentives.
