Seven years ago, the Green Bay Lightning soccer club began looking into the idea of creating a large complex for their teams to host games.

Lightning club members formed the Bay Area Recreational Campus and, in 2008, they joined with the village of Bellevue to make the complex a reality. And today, a groundbreaking ceremony will mark the start of construction of playing fields at 3833 Eaton Road, Bellevue.

The fields will be built on 58 acres at Shaha Park and will be located at the corner of Eaton Road and Grandview Road. The first construction projects for the three-phase plan include building ...
