Two bicyclists were injured after being struck by motorists recently in the town of Liberty Grove.
An Ellison Bay woman was injured when her bicycle was struck by a motorist at 1:44 p.m. June 15.
Marguerite W. Packard was traveling east on Garrett Bay Road when she looked left and continued crossing the highway but failed to stop at the stop sign, according to a Door County Sheriff's Department accident report. Packard was struck by Roland H. Daubner, Ellison Bay, traveling south on Wisconsin 42. Packard bounced off the hood of Daubner's Lincoln Towncar and landed on the highway. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital for her injuries. She was wearing a helmet.
In another bicycle versus car accident in the town of Liberty Grove, a Wauwatosa man was struck from behind by a motorist at 7:31 a.m. June 19.
Scott R. Franke, was traveling east on a bicycle on the side of Old Stage Road in front of Octavio Martinez, Fish Creek, driving a Nissan Maxima in the same direction.
According to the accident report, Franke did not see or hear the vehicle behind him and began a left turn onto Woodcrest Road north in front of Martinez when the car struck him. Martinez briefly left the scene and returned but failed to report the accident to law enforcement.
Franke had minor scratches and a sore knee and refused medical treatment at the scene. He was wearing a helmet.
The Martinez vehicle was listed as owned by Maria L. Nunez, Green Bay. Neither Martinez nor a passenger, Nelson Escobar, Fish Creek, was injured.
