American Folklore Theatre: Getting a rare chance to see how we've grown

I want to begin this column by thanking all who've kindly said you've missed me onstage at American Folklore Theatre this summer. This is the first time in 34 years where there wasn't a suitable role. That's a remarkable run of consecutive performance seasons, and I'm enjoying having time for a variety of pursuits, including seeing from the audience how brilliantly artistic director Jeff Herbst has cast our 2013 line-up.

For theater to really shimmer, actors should fit their roles as comfortably as you fit into your favorite old jeans. Jeff has done a bang-up job of that.
