Door Shakespeare: Hard preseason work, changes all done for audience

Coming back to the Door Shakespeare office to write this column, I am leaving the garden at Björklunden, our theater space, as storm clouds roll in for the first full rain day of the rehearsal period.

The garden is filled with volunteers, interns, apprentices, directors and designers working through the weather to prepare and renovate the theater. All of this work, building, planting and upgrading of our physical space is the culmination of a winter of planning and reconfiguring.
