De Pere resident Peggy Wolfe, 94, is wheeled through a crowded terminal by Kenlynn Sweetala with other veterans who returned to an emotional 'welcome home' ceremony at Outagamie County Regional Airport in Greenville on Thursday night, June 20, after they spent the day in Washington, D.C., on an Old Glory Honor Flight. Sweetala accompanied Wolfe, who worked as a physical therapist in World War II, on the trip as a volunteer guardian.

As an avid and educated bird watcher, the nice, warm days when Peggy Wolfe can open the windows in her apartment bring great pleasure.

To hear the chirping of the birds that have descended on a nearby garden area at The Renaissance in De Pere is one thing, but to be able to identify them on the spot is quite another.

"I've got a life list of 400 birds," said Wolfe, whose trained eyes can pick out a sparrow or a morning dove or even the occasional cardinal or oriole as she sits in her living-room chair. ...
