To the editor:
Thank you, Mayor: For dividing the city like we have never seen before.
Thank you, Mayor: For embarrassing the city at high school sporting events.
Thank you, Mayor: For your total disrespect of certain city employees.
Thank you, Mayor: For removing good people from committees because you did not like them.
Thank you, Mayor: For not taking a pay raise because you don't deserve what you're paid now or earn what you're paid.
Thank you, Mayor: For turning a part-time position into a full-time embarrassment for the City.
It is time that you start treating people the way you want to be treated and stop making everything about you and playing the victim. I am tired of hearing you say that everyone thinks that what you are doing is right for the City. I am here to tell you that could not be farther from the truth because I am hearing just the opposite.
What bothers me more than anything is that anyone I talk to said that they did not vote for you. It makes me wonder how you ever got in. It makes me wonder if people have buyer's remorse and won't admit how they voted. I personally don't think the city can survive being run as dictatorship much longer.
It is time for a change and get someone to be Mayor and hopefully clean up this mess. Your treatment of certain individuals because you don't like or who they are associated with needs to stop NOW. Not everyone wants to be Mayor, but (everyone) wants a Mayor! Stop taking credit for issues you were not part of.
Thank you to all the new council members who expressed their own opinions about two major issues at the recent council meeting.
I want to thank the department heads: City Administrator Sara Perrizo, Superintendent of Public Works Jeremy Wusterbarth, Parks Director John Bostedt, Fire Chief Jack Mlnarik and Police Chief Dan Ault for keeping the City functioning as well as it is with little or no support from the Mayor.
The Mayor's horrible treatment of City employees is beyond belief. I don't know if the Mayor is intimidated by your intelligence or if the Mayor wants to replace you with people less qualified. I for one urge you to keep doing what you're doing for the sake of the City! Hopefully the citizens will correct this at the next election. I am confident this will happen. I also want to thank past and present council members for not letting the Mayor work her personal agenda.
I want to congratulate the Oconto High School Boys Baseball Team for winning the Division 3 State Championship!!! Those were two best days of baseball I have ever attended. The way the team handled themselves with poise and class was great to watch. I think I speak for everyone that you made Oconto PROUD! Sohrweide for Mayor!!!
A special thank you to Chief Ault and Chief Mlnarik for organizing the escort into the City, a well deserved moment for the City and the players. I also want to thank the firemen and police officers who participated in the escort.
