United Way meeting for programs set
Marshfield Area United Way will hold an informational meeting for any 501(c)3 organization or program interested in applying for funding in 2014. The meeting will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursdayin Room 126 at Mid-State Technical College, 2600 W. Fifth St., Marshfield. The first hour of the meeting will cover funding priorities for 2014 and review a draft of the revised funding application.
The second hour of the meeting will be an introduction to a new and improved volunteer website. The website will have many new features available for users and volunteers alike. Any organization or group utilizing volunteers is strongly encouraged to attend this portion of the meeting to learn more.

Celebrate at Highground
The Highground Veterans Memorial Park will have an Independence Day ceremony at 10 a.m. July 4. Joining The Highground for the ceremony will be a guest speaker from Fort McCoy, SFC Kevin L. Henderson. Everyone is invited to attend this ceremony celebrating our country's freedoms; remembering the struggle to obtain them and the importance of retaining our freedoms in the future.
Columbus reunion planned
A 60-year informal reunion for the Columbus High School class of 1953 is scheduled for Aug. 10 at Belvedere Supper Club, M329 Highway 97, with social at 5:30 p.m. and dinner 6:30 p.m., followed by program. Sign up for garden bus trip
The Over the Garden Gate Master Gardener Volunteers of Clark County is hosting a gardening bus trip July 20. The bus leaves the north side of the Courthouse in Neillsville at 6 a.m. with a brief fast food breakfast stop en route to the Rotary Gardens in Janesville. A guided tour of the gardens will be followed by stops at K&W Greenery in Janesville and the Land of the Giants Hostas Farm in Milton.
Cost is $50 per person and includes transportation, entrance fees and the guided tour of Rotary Gardens. Meals are on your own.
